TCU's mission for V-Day is to end violence against women by increasing awareness through events, the media and by raising funds to support organizations working to ensure the safety of women everywhere.
TCU, as a university, has a mission to educate our individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community. Every year, the campus is flooded with new students who are training to be ethical leaders. How can we as a community fulfill our goal of educating them fully, if we do not educate them evenly?
The purpose of the V-Day Campaign is multifaceted: to raise awareness about violence against women; to redress the shame women feel about their bodies and their sexuality; and to transform the lives of girls and women locally and globally. Now that the issues of violence against women are more public than they have ever been before, we need to ensure that they are never forgotten again. TCU's goal is to continue to educate our community, and bring people together for this shared cultural and personal experience.
We have a responsibility to show women that it is their right to hold unconditional pride in their womanhood and femininity regardless of who they are!
